Overview

This online training will provide you with up-to-date knowledge on the new sustainability requirements within the framework of the Biocidal Products Regulation 528/2012. Besides important legal issues, the training will discuss different scientific aspects like the “one substance, one assessment“ approach as well as natural origin, low risk biocides. The training also provides you with an assessment of the impact of the CSS on innovation and the availability of biocidal products in the EU.

Piet Blancquaert is Biologist by training with specialisation and PhD’s in ecology and toxicology. He has over 20 years of experience in the biocides and plant protection products industries and started his own consultancy business in 2010 where he is focusing on the Biocidal Products Regulation and its impact on the business. His experience allows him to assist companies in their strategies to run a successful business in compliance with the complex European legislative framework. Together with Arche Consulting he also started Arch Consortia to deal with consortia allowing an efficient preparation, submission and follow-up of applications for product authorisations under the BPR.

Natalie Konings is a Senior Associate with the EU Regulatory Group at Fieldfisher Brussels. She practices in highly regulated fields, in the areas of European Union and Belgian environmental and regulatory laws, with a specific focus on sustainability requirements, data protection and disclosures. She delivers advice in the chemical and life-science industries and handles environmental and sustainability law issues with specific focus on issues surrounding sustainability such as waste management, green initiatives and sustainability strategies. She is also regularly involved in agrochemical and biocidal sectors as well as commodity chemicals. Natalie advises companies on a wide range of business law and contractual matters relating to their presence in Europe. Her expertise covers all aspects from contractual law, data protection, environmental liability, data sharing & compensation, imports and distribution. She is also often involved in litigation and represents clients in front of arbitration instances.

Eduardo Mulas joined EPPA in 2010, where he has been working on advocacy in the areas of Environment, Health and Innovation with a focus on the interface between EU Institutions and Member States. Over the years, Eduardo has developed a unique regulatory, policy and political expertise in the field of Chemicals, Biocides and Agro-Chemicals, intensively working both on large EU legislative and policy fields (Review of BPR, PPPR, REACH, CLP, F-Gas among many others) and on regulatory approval dossiers under comitology for Biocides, CLH, Plant Protection Products, Food and Feed Additives.

Koen Van Maldegem

Koen’s practice focuses on EU regulatory, business and competition law, with an emphasis on chemicals, pesticides, biocides and cosmetics. He advises international and Belgian companies on chemicals, environmental law, regulatory compliance, and free movement of products throughout the EU. His expertise covers regulatory counselling at the EU and Member State level regarding data protection, data sharing and data compensation, task force formation and management, sustainability issues, and distribution and supply agreements for pesticides, biocides and chemicals. He is also specialised in solving the antitrust issues potentially arising in these areas. Koen also handles product defence litigation before European and national courts and has authored articles on biocides, data sharing and antitrust legislation.

Participation Fee: € 395.00 plus VAT.

The registration fee includes the following benefits:

Representatives of an authority or a public university are therefore eligible for a reduced fee of € 295.00 plus VAT per person (please provide evidence). The reduced fee cannot be combined with other rebates.

Group Reductions
For joint bookings received from one company we grant a 15% discount from the third participant onwards.

Terms of Cancellation / Book without Risk
You can cancel your participation in our online events free of charge and without giving reasons in writing up to 1 week before the start of the event. In the case of later cancellations and non-login to the online event, no participation fees can be refunded.
In this case, however, you will receive access to the documentation after the event.
You can name a substitute participant free of charge at any time.
