Active substances in Plant Protection Products: International Akademie Fresenius Conference to discuss new assessment techniques and thresholds

The International Conference “Regulatory Toxicology of Active Substances in Plant Protection Products“, to be staged by Akademie Fresenius in Mainz/Germany on 2 and 3 December, will be providing an overview of the latest methods and instruments for determining active substances in plant protection products. Experts from Germany and Europe will be discussing recent studies and risk assessment at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

The two-day conference agenda not only covers in vitro comparative metabolism studies in  pesticide risk assessment but also the assessment of the toxicological relevance of the impurities and cumulative assessment groups (CAGs) and their application to dietary and non-dietary combined risk assessment. EFSA representatives will be offering insights into projects, ongoing activities and outputs including results from a recent EFSA project related with use of in silico methods for prediction of genotoxicity of pesticides and their metabolites.
