Susanne Hougaard Bennekou joined the Division of Risk Assessment and Nutrition at the National Food Institute of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) as a Senior Advisor in toxicology in 2019. She has previously worked as a Senior Advisor in the Pesticide Division of the Danish EPA. She was the Vice-Chair of the EFSA PPR panel and since 2018 year she has been a Vice-Chair of the EFSA Scientific Committee.

Tamara Coja is a Biologist and has been working as a Senior Regulatory Toxicologist at the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) in Vienna. Since 2007 she has been involved in toxicological evaluation of pesticides. Her special regulatory interest is in toxicity of metabolites in residues of plant and animal origin and in groundwater. Since 2018 she is a member of the EFSA PPR Panel and joined working groups.

Markus Frericks is a Biologist and a European Registered Toxicologist and works as a Regulatory Toxicologist at BASF in Limburgerhof. He is the Vice Chair of the Working Group on Computational Toxicology from the German Society of Toxicology (GT) and the Chair of the ECPA Working Group on Genotoxicity-QSAR.

ERM - Environmental Resources Management, UK
Alex Gledhill is a Principal Toxicologist at ERM Regulatory Services Ltd. Alex moved into Consultancy 10 years ago having worked at Syngenta Central Toxicology Laboratory for 20 years where she was involved in all areas of regulatory and investigatory ADME and PK work for a range of crop protection chemicals, drugs and general chemicals, including new active substances and existing products. Utilising her background including chemistry, metabolism and toxicology, Alex leads in silico toxicology at ERM and has developed the in-house service, working with a range of clients to design and refine QSAR strategies to meet varied regulatory and commercial needs.

Anja Hüser holds a PhD in chemistry and has been working as a Regulatory Tocxicologist for plant protection products at a consultancy for 10 years and since 2015 at Bayer Crop Science Division. She is a member of the ECPA Expert Groups on QSAR, Residue Definition Subgroup and Non-relevant Metabolites

European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Italy
Georges Kass is a Toxicologist. He became Associate Professor and subsequently Full Professor of Toxicology at the University of Surrey, UK, in 1994. His research focused on the molecular mechanisms of drug toxicity and on liver injury. In 2009 he moved to EFSA where his work focuses on the development of novel approaches and the impact of new technologies on chemical risk assessment. He maintains visiting posts with the University of Surrey and the National University of Ireland in Galway.

Carsten Kneuer is a Toxicologist and the Head of the Unit “Toxicology of Active Substances and their Metabolites“ in the Pesticides Safety Department of the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment. He started working for the BfR in 2007 as a Senior Scientist Risk Assessment.

Lhasa, UK
Anax Oliveira has a PhD in Toxicology and has worked as a Toxicologist in the pharmaceutical, and cosmetics & personal care industries, providing safety assessment of impurities, active ingredients and finished products for several applications. He is currently leading the toxicology domain within Lhasa’s scientific team, supporting the development of in silico solutions for chemical safety assessment.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), USA
Grace Patlewicz is currently a research chemist at US EPA’s Center for Computational Toxicology & Exposure (CCTE). She started her career at Unilever United Kingdom, before moving to the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Italy and then to DuPont in the United States. A chemist and toxicologist by training, her research interests have been focused on the development and application of (Q)SARs and read-across for regulatory purposes. She has authored ~125 journal publications and book chapters, chaired various Industry groups and has contributed to the development of technical guidance for (Q)SARs, chemical categories and Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) under various Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) work programmes.

European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Italy
Rositsa Serafimova has been working as a Scientific Officer in the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) since September 2012, first in theFood ingredients and packaging Unit and currently in the Pesticides Peer Review Unit. Before joining EFSA she worked at the European Commission Joint Research Centre and at the Laboratory of Mathematical Chemistry, Burgas University (Bulgaria) as a Researcher. A substantial part of her research has focused on development, assessment and application of computational methods for prediction of mammalian toxicity in the context of chemical risk assessment.

European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), Finland
Eric Stilgenbauer is a Pharmaceutical Scientist and has embraced a career as a regulator at the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Healthcare, Council of Europe. Over a decade ago, he joined the European Chemicals Agency in Helsinki. He is specialised in hazard assessment and in particular in the evaluation of grouping and read-across approaches under REACH.
