For many years, the Akademie Fresenius FCM Conference has been the perfect platform for bringing together the scientific, industrial and regulatory communities. With the COVID-19 crisis, it has become difficult to gather physically. However, since we all need to continue to learn from one another, we have decided to keep up our dialogue in the virtual space. Eddo Hoekstra

European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC), Italy

Eddo Hoekstra is a Scientific Officer in the Food and Feed Compliance Unit at the Health, Consumers and Reference Materials Directorate of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. He is working in the European Union Reference Laboratory for Food Contact Materials. Before 2009 he was involved in the development of a “European Acceptance Scheme for Construction Materials in contact with Drinking Water”.


Ron Hoogenboom

Wageningen Food Safety Research, The Netherlands

Ron Hoogenboom is the assistent Programme Leader Food Contaminants at Wageningen Food Safety Research, dealing with environmental contaminants, pesticides and toxins from moulds, algae and plants. Since 2012 he has been a member of the EFSA CONTAM Panel and is the vice-chair of the WG on PFASs.


Caroline Locre

CTP - Centre Technique du Papier, France

Caroline LOCRE has an engineering degree in papermaking and joined CTP in 2013 as Project Leader in the fields of surface treatments of papers and boards, barrier materials, and food contact materials. She currently coordinates or participates in several R&D projects related to surface treatment of papers and boards and development of new food contact materials with specific barriers properties. Interactions between cellulosic packaging materials and foodstuffs are one of her favoured research topics. Assessment of the compliance of (sometimes new) food contact cellulosic materials with EU regulation is also part of her activities.

Sherwin Williams, UK

Peter K.T. Oldring is a Regulatory Affairs Manager at Sherwin Williams, based in UK and is actively involved in activities to support the can coating business.

Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (IVV), Germany


Dieter Schrenk

University of Kaiserslautern, Germany

Dieter Schrenk has been a Professor for Food Chemistry and Environmental Toxicology at the University of Kaiserslautern since 1996. In 2005 he took on the full professorship for Food Chemistry and Toxicology. He joined the EFSA CONTAM Panel in 2003. Since 2018 he has been the Chair of this panel.


Darena Schymanski

Chemical and Veterinary Analytical Institute Münsterland-Emscher-Lippe (CVUA-MEL), Germany

Darena Schymanski is a Food Chemist and one of the heads of the speciality laboratory in the Department "Special Instrumental Analyses" at the CVUA-MEL in Münster. She is responsible for the analysis of microplastics and nanoparticles, elements and stable isotopes. In 2015 she left the Thuringian State Office for Consumer Protection to join the CVUA-MEL in Münster.

Representatives of an authority or a public university are therefore eligible for a reduced fee of € 495.00 plus VAT per person (please provide evidence). The reduced fee cannot be combined with other rebates.

Group reductions

For joint bookings received from one company we grant a 15% discount from the third participant onwards (it doesn’t apply for representatives of an authority or a public university).
