Producers, users and assessors of (agro)chemical products should watch this space for national and international trainings on the regulation and risk assessment of applied chemical substances.
29 September 2022
This online training gives you an introduction to the REACH, CLP and biocides regulation in the UK with a focus on timescales, decision-making processes and current challenges. You will learn about data requirements, data sharing considerations as well as legal remedies and enforcement. The training will also provide you with an outlook on what is to be expected in the future and how the UK might diverge from the EU.
4 and 5 October 2022
This training is aiming to give you the basic knowledge on how to register biocides in the EU. In a compact format on 2 consecutive mornings, you will be familiarised wit the core principles of the BPR. If you are relatively new to the industry, or you have recently returned to your job after a leave and want to refresh your basic knowledge, this is just the perfect opportunity for you.
10 and 11 October 2022
This course will provide you with in-depth knowledge on how to submit your biocides dossier using the ECHA Iuclid software. Using hands-on exercises, it will take you through the dossier preparation step by step, including the R4BP 3 and the SPC Editor.
13 October 2022
This online training will provide you with up-to-date knowledge on the new sustainability requirements within the framework of the Biocidal Products Regulation 528/2012. Besides important legal issues, the training will discuss different scientific aspects like the “one substance, one assessment“ approach as well as natural origin, low risk biocides. The training also provides you with an assessment of the impact of the CSS on innovation and the availability of biocidal products in the EU.
19 October 2022
Pesticide regulation in the EU has grown increasingly complicated over the years. During this training course, you will receive an introduction to EU pesticide regulation, covering the background and development of the regulations including the most recent updates following the updated General Food Law. The course will provide an overview of the evaluation process of both active substances and plant protection products and will also provide an introduction to MRL legislation and CLP.
20 October 2022
This training is aiming to give you the basic knowledge on how to assess PECsoil in the evaluation procedure in Europe. You will be familiarised with the philosophy of the new PECsoil guidance documents of EFSA and the related software packages to perform individual PECsoil calculations.
27 and 28 October 2022
Ensuring consumers are adequately protected is a key element of pesticide regulation. Dietary risk assessment as part of an active substance or plant protection product evaluation is one of the essential calculations in this context. During this training course, you will receive an introduction to the processes in the EU, covering residue data requirements and how to conduct a dietary risk assessment. Additionally, you will learn about toxicology data requirements and how metabolites identified as having a potential for dietary exposure are assessed.
14 and 15 November 2022
This training features the basics of using IUCLID itself and then moves on to explain the specifics of using the software for plant protection products (PPPs). It will provide hands-on advice and practical guidance to ensure you can submit your application correctly.
15 and 16 November 2022
A large number of hazardous substances are released into the environment and it is essential to assess their impact on ecosystems. For example, registrants are obliged to collect ecotoxicological information and extended safety data sheets (eSDS) for hazardous substances must include respective exposure scenarios. This course has been set up as a first introduction and does not require prior knowledge in ecotoxicology. However, a basic knowledge in chemistry is recommended.
13 and 14 December 2022
During this cross-sector training course, you will receive an introduction to toxicokinetics, toxicodynamics as well as toxicological testing and thresholds. You will also learn about the exposure side and the principles of risk characterisation.
7 February 2023
During this online training, you will receive an introduction to EU MRLs, covering residue data requirements, toxicological reference values and the calculation of MRLs. An overview of the EU MRL legislation, the application process in the EU as well as a comparison with the UK will be given.
