Pesticides in Air, Soil and Water: 20th International Fresenius AGRO Conference to discuss risk management as a national, European and global task

Behaviour of Pesticides in Air, Soil and Water

Now, for the twentieth time, Akademie Fresenius is sending out invitations to those responsible for environmental behaviour, exposure and risk assessment, registration and regulatory affairs as well as monitoring and modelling to attend their International Conference “Behaviour of Pesticides in Air, Soil and Water” which will be taking place in Mainz/Germany on 18 and 19 June. For two whole days, experts from the national and European authorities, as well as from the Canadian government agency, will be discussing current challenges and new developments in the assessment, authorisation and use of pesticides in the environment with representatives from the plant protection industry. Akademie Fresenius has made this possible by winning the support of established experts from Germany, the EU countries and overseas.

The agenda includes a comparison of the methods and results of the latest risk assessments carried out at both national and European level. Representatives from the workgroups in the Northern, Southern and Central zones, the European Commission and the European Food Safety Authority’s PPR Panel will be reporting on where the harmonisation of the different approaches to assessment currently stands. Other topics include laboratory experiments and the exchange of data on the application of glyphosate and aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA). In addition, the participants will be discussing whether and how spray drift can be incorporated into the risk assessment process.
